Beyond the Words (89)

I’ve committed to listening and reflecting and writing each day. Tonight, I find myself some where beyond the place where words can originate or return, some time before words begin.

It is gentle and quiet in Here.

And full. Full filled. Overflowing.

There is gratitude here.

Deep, deep and expansive gratitude.

There is also sadness connected to the endings of classes and vibrant communities that have been born and grown during this semester. I am amazed at the awakening of this generation. Something profound is happening in our world and I think I will be alive long enough to see it grow a bit. I do hope so.

Any “thing” that I notice coming I also notice going.

Bubbles rising to the surface of carbonated water.

Tonight, I am more beneath the bubbles, beyond the bubbles, and around the bubbles than I am the bubbles. Sometimes, it feels like I am the bubbles. But tonight, I’m watching them and feeling them rise and pass before me and through me. Affected, yes. Identified as, no.

I am also proud of myself for honoring and welcoming the rising and falling of feelings, emotions, and sensations today. My capacity to do so is so much more expansive than just a few years ago. I may not be entirely symptom free, but I have experienced incredible healing that I’m not sure anyone expected in years 5 or 6 of this journey. I lived well today and as fully awake as possible.

Thank you. Grace, faith, trust, family, friends and practice.

It has been said that you don’t dig a well when the house is on fire. I sure wish I had dug more of a well before the brain injuries, but I am also glad that I got a chance to get to digging anyway. The wells are deeply dug and getting deeper and deeper and fuller and fuller.

But, as you can tell, tonight, I find myself some where beyond the place where words can originate or return, some time before words begin.

I’m just going to enjoy being here, now.

Peace
